Family entertainment at an annual Hertfordshire music festival will be "even better" this summer.

More than just a music festival, Standon Calling 2015 organisers have confirmed details of fun for youngsters over the weekend of July 31 to August 2.

Grammy-nominated duo Basement Jaxx will bring the festival to a close musically on the Sunday night, with other big name acts set to be revealed in the coming weeks for the event’s 10th anniversary.

Festival founder Alex Trenchard said: “Our kids and family entertainment is getting even better for Standon Calling 2015.

“We are very excited to announce that we’re teaming up with the brilliant Angel Gardens to bring you a brand new programme of entertainment for our 10th birthday celebrations.”

New additions include a cabaret tent just for kids, a baby space for under-2s, a silly sports day, family fire shows, a new arts and crafts tent area with glitter and feathers aplenty, and a new Teenage Kicks area featuring pamper treatments and workshops for older members of your party.

Organisers are also adding a new family area with a view of the main stage.

Children’s tickets currently cost just £5.

But infant and child early bird passes will go off sale next week.

Alex said: “We will be moving up to full price tickets for infants (0-3) and children (4-12) next Friday, so if you’re planning on bringing the family to Standon Calling 2015, make sure you get your tickets soon to get Infant Weekend Tickets for just £3, and Child Weekend Tickets for only £5.”

Once early birds have gone off sale, infant tickets will move up to £5 and child weekend tickets will cost £20.

The three-day festival is not just for families though, as Alex explained.

He said: “We are known for hitting that magic balance between providing a fun, safe environment for families, whilst putting on the kind of party that it will take you a week to recover from, so be sure to book the Monday off work, and maybe Tuesday too.

“Stay tuned for our next big line-up announcement coming very, very soon...”

Standon Calling 2015 will take place in the Hertfordshire countryside at Standon Lordship, near Ware, over the weekend of Friday, July 31 to Sunday, August 2.
