DJ Fresh has announced a live date at the Forum in Hatfield following his two appearances at last weekend’s 2012 V Festival in Chelmsford.
The pioneering drum ‘n’ bass maestro will perform a live set at the College Lane venue on Friday, November 16.
With a couple of number one singles under his belt, two sold-out UK live tours and more than one million sales, Fresh, aka Dan Stein, is leading the new wave of British dance artists who are spearheading ‘generation bass’, the UK’s biggest youth music explosion since acid house.
To be released in October, Nextlevelism is Fresh’s third studio album and the record will cement his place in electronic music history. New single The Feeling is released next month.
Testament to his songwriting and production prowess, guests on Nextlevelism include some of the biggest names and hottest rising stars from hip hop, drum ‘n’ bass, rock and beyond, taking in Dizzee Rascal (The Power), Rita Ora (Hot Right Now), Professor Green and The Fray (Forever More), Rizzle Kicks (Skyhighatrist), Ms Dynamite (Golddust), Juliette Lewis (Fire Over Water), Adam F and Michael Warren (See You Again) and Liam Bailey (Don’t Tell Me).
Dan was recently awarded best producer at the Drum & Bass Awards and best dance act at this year’s Urban Music Awards.
Armed with the first number one singles in both drum ‘n’ bass and dubstep, plus past hits Gold Dust and Lassitude, Fresh continues to push the boundaries of both genres, fusing bass-heavy, speaker shattering dubstep into his live sound with a full band and stunning light show.
Following the success of hit tunes like Louder and Hot Right Now, featuring Rita Ora, Fresh has expanded his act to include Kodish on drums, Richard De Rosa on guitar, Fleur on vocals and Messy MC, while he handles keyboard duties.
Tickets for the Forum Hertfordshire show cost £15 in advance and have already gone on sale.
Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult over 18 and there’s a 10pm curfew.
