The 25th anniversary of the University of Hertfordshire will be marked in Hatfield with a special concert.

The new de Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra season kicks off in Hatfield next month with an anniversary concert.

Conducted by Robin Browning, the dHPO will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the University of Hertfordshire on Sunday, October 8.

The orchestra’s first concert of the new term opens with Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture, featuring the student hymn Gaudeamus Igur.

The musicians will be joined by soloist Leo Appel for Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto.

The concert in the Weston Auditorium, on the university’s de Havilland Campus, concludes with Brahms’ brilliant Second Symphony.

Tickets cost £20 adults, £15 concessions, £8 children and £6 students.

The concert will last approximately 150 minutes, including interval.
