CREAM singer and bass player Jack Bruce will be playing live in St Albans this weekend.
HAVING composed Cream classics such as I Feel Free, Sunshine of Your Love and White Room, Jack Bruce’s place in musical history is assured.
Hailed as one of the most powerful vocalists and greatest bassists of his era, Jack Bruce & His Big Blues Band are coming to the Alban Arena, in St Albans, on Saturday night.
Jack was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 as a member of Cream, and the band had a tremendously successful reunion in 2005.
The following year, Jack was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Grammy for his work with Cream – the rock supergroup also containing guitarist Eric Clapton and drummer Ginger Baker.
In the spring of 2011, Jack formed his new band, The Big Blues Band, and enjoyed a sell-out UK tour.
He has since been playing major summer festivals all over Europe with his Big Blues Band, and in September a television special is planned for BBC Scotland/BBC4 featuring many of his compositions performed by various ensembles.
Tickets for Saturday’s St Albans gig, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £28.50.
