Roll up, roll up! Circus performers from a Britain’s Got Talent act will entertain festival-goers in Knebworth this summer.
The new Cool Britannia Festival will take place in the grounds of Knebworth House from Friday, August 31 to Sunday, September 2.
Alongside some of the best of British rock and dance music from the 1990s, Cool Britannia will also host Dr Haze’s Freak Show - Featuring Acts From The Infamous Circus of Horrors.
Audiences can get their chills and thrills from an array of bizarre acts at the Hertfordshire stately home, including sword swallowers, contortionist, acrobats, knife throwers, a strong man and many more.
The performance will be held in the Carters Steam Fair Grand Palace of Entertainment and will be open at the Friday night welcome party, as well as both Saturday and Sunday across the weekend.
The Circus of Horrors reached the live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2011 and performed in London’s West End.
The unique circus – performed to live rock music – has also appeared on TV shows The Slammer, Daybreak, This Morning and The One Show.
Cool Britannia’s main stage at Knebworth Park will be headlined by Happy Mondays and Ocean Colour Scene on the Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Supporting artists include Feeder, Razorlight, Embrace, The Lightning Seeds, Peter Hook & The Light, Cast, Heather Small, Dodgy, Space, Toploader and The South.
The music festival will also see the premiere of Britpop Classical, which will feature a full orchestra together with rock band and guest soloists including The Farm’s Peter Hooton, Republica singer Saffron and Heaven 17’s Glenn Gregory.
They will be performing unique versions of Britpop classics.
Cool Britannia organisers have also teamed up with legendary dance music brand Ministry of Sound.
Housed in the Big Top, they will feature some of the best club DJs of the era, including Todd Terry, Brandon Block, Jazzie B and Alfredo.
Each night there will be appearances by a host of club classic stars including Black Box, N-Trance, Rozalla, Alison Limerick, Angie Brown and Urban Cookie Collective.
