Cancelled Rhythms of the World bands to play free gig

BANDS unable to play at Rhythms of the World on the Saturday because of the poor weather conditions will play a free gig in Hitchin this Friday.
Monk-Phish, Gold Dust and Captain Of The Greasy Bastard, who had their sets chopped while organisers made the Hitchin Priory site safe on the very wet opening day of the festival, will be at Club 85.
Rhythms performance director Steve Smither said it was horrible having to tell five acts, including the 40-piece youth North Herts Jazz Band, they would be unable to play as the opening time was put back.
However, he hoped Friday’s concert would go some way to rectifying that.
The bands will be joined by The New Town Centres, who played the popular world music festival on The Nettlebed Stage on Sunday night.
Doors to the Whinbush Road venue open at 7.45pm.
