A RESOURCEFUL musician renowned for his hunger for hard work is appearing at The Fairway Tavern this Sunday. Alan Barnes has performed at the venue with his quartet, sextet, octet and Magnificent Seven. This weekend he appears with his Alan Barnes Ellin

A RESOURCEFUL musician renowned for his hunger for hard work is appearing at The Fairway Tavern this Sunday.

Alan Barnes has performed at the venue with his quartet, sextet, octet and Magnificent Seven.

This weekend he appears with his Alan Barnes' Ellingtonians.

The band will be following the gig with a recording session on Monday to record their first album.

The line-up includes Bruce Adams on trumpet, Andy Wood on trombone, Alan Barnes on sax/clarinet, Andy Panayi on sax/flute, Tony Coe on sax/clarinet, John Horler on piano, Alec Dankworth on bass and Mike Smith on drums.

Admission is £10 for members and £12 for non-members.

Doors open at 7.30pm.
