Frost/Nixon (15)

RON Howard directs this dramatic retelling of the post-Watergate television interviews between British talk show host David Frost and disgraced former US president Richard Nixon.

The film is set in the summer of 1977, three years since Nixon (Frank Langella) was forced out of office following the Watergate scandal.

After years of silence, Nixon agrees to sit for a single interview to answer the questions some 400m people have waited to ask.

To everyone's surprise, he selects David Frost (Michael Sheen), a jet-setting British TV personality, as the man to whom he shall confess.

Critics presume Nixon will easily outsmart his interviewer, but what follows is an electrifying battle of wits that reveals much about both men's personalities and, ultimately, uncovers the truth.

Frost/Nixon not only recreates the televised clash, but also the weeks of behind-the-scenes negotiations that led to the TV moment so many had waited for.
