Thousands are expected to flock to Knebworth Park next month when a popular steam and crafts fair returns.
The Knebworth Country, Craft & Steam Fair will take place at the Hertfordshire stately home over the weekend of Saturday, August 11 to Sunday, August 12.
Promising summer holiday fun for the whole family, the event organised by Oakleigh Fairs is now in its ninth year.
Among the attractions will be a female equestrian horse display stunt team, steam engines, including full size and scale models, children’s small animal petting pens, birds of prey and falconry display team, ferret racing, Mario Magic children’s entertainer, and the Companion Dog Show on the Sunday, with proceeds from entries going to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
There will also be a history display team on horseback, as well as Knights of Honour battle re-enactments and medieval village.
And if that’s not all, as well as the full size and scale steam engines and vintage cars, besom broom making, spinning and weaving and basket making, there will also be other rural demonstration skills to enjoy.
Visitors can also sample and buy in the arts, crafts and gifts marquees, as well as enjoy refreshments from the various food stalls.
An Oakleigh spokesman said: “We are delighted to be returning to Knebworth for our fair, now in its ninth year, in a celebration of country life at its best, as well as much more besides.
“It’s a fantastic setting and we really enjoy working with the team there.
“Our events are designed with the whole family in mind.
“We want to deliver a really good weekend that everyone can enjoy – young and old – and we are bringing some fantastic new entertainment to the show this year.”
The fair will be open from 10am to 5pm both days, with last entry at 4pm.
Admission costs £9.50, and a family ticket (for four persons) is £34.
