Families are invited to the Willows Activity Farm Pumpkin Festival in London Colney, St Albans.

The Coursers Road farm attraction will be open from Saturday, October 22 to Sunday, October 30 for Halloween-inspired pumpkin fun.

There are fresh pumpkins ripe and ready for children to pick at the Willows Pumpkin Patch.

And all youngsters will receive a free pumpkin to decorate, carve, enjoy and eat.

The Willows Pumpkin Patch is large enough to house hundreds of pumpkins, just waiting to be found.

The doors of the Willows Carving Cavern are always open for eager children ready to bring their pumpkin and enter the daily carving competition.

This is a chance for youngsters to be creative, with carving spoons, decorations and ribbons to put the finishing touches to their plump orange pumpkins.

Younger pumpkin-pickers needn’t worry – there is a place for artistic visitors of every age at Willows Activity Farm, as the Pumpkin Arts and Crafts tent provides an opportunity for little ones to create their own pumpkin-themed masterpiece.

There’s also a new guest who will be making his first appearance at Willows.

Benjamin Bunny has always been very shy, but has plucked up the courage to join in the fun following several sightings of him around the farm.

He will star in his own show on stage with his best friends Peter Rabbit and Lily Bobtail in the Peter Rabbit Theatre.

Children can also see him during meet and greet sessions at selected times throughout the day.

The unique Peter Rabbit Adventure Playground is a world of its own.

Visitors can explore and find creepy-crawlies in the wondrous Lily Bobtail Nature Discovery area.

There’s also plenty of weather-proof entertainment in Cotton-tail Village, Captain Chicken’s Egg Dodge and Woolly Jumpers, as part of a jam-packed programme of activity.

• The Willows Pumpkin Festival takes place between October 22 and October 30.
