Brides, grooms and their friends and family turned out in force to glean ideas and inspiration, while meeting with local suppliers, at Bride: The Wedding Show at Knebworth Barns.

“It was my first time exhibiting at Knebworth Barns with Bride and it felt fantastic.”

Angela Handley, owner of Popsycool Design.

Held on Saturday, January 7 to Sunday, January 8, Bride: The Wedding Show offered yet another successful event that served to delight all in attendance.

Welcoming 1,500 visitors over the weekend, the show featured more than 80 local suppliers – from photographers, florists and cakemakers to venues, entertainers and stationers.

Both first-time exhibitors and returning businesses all had positive words to say about the show.

Angela Handley, owner of Popsycool Design, said: “It was my first time exhibiting at Knebworth Barns with Bride and it felt fantastic.

“The atmosphere was full of excitable brides, grooms, family and friends.

“The response I received was amazing. It was great to hear some lovely compliments and I cannot wait to start on their wedding stationery.”

Once show-goers had travelled through the spectacular grounds and up the sweeping driveway of the Knebworth House estate, a fully-dressed tipi from Tipis4Hire, complete with furniture, lighting and a fire pit, greeted them on arrival – and the fun didn’t stop there.

With goody bags available to the first 100 brides through the door on both days, visitors enjoyed the VIP treatment from the outset.

Brides-to-be were even invited to try on a selection of dresses in the show’s Wedding Boutique, a dedicated area that offered the same privacy and space as a bridal boutique.

Complimentary copies of Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire Bride magazine were readily available, as well as show-exclusive deals and competitions to win amazing prizes from the event’s exhibitors.

The excitement continued during the much-anticipated catwalk show, which ran three times daily – at 11.30am, 1.15pm and 3pm.

Packed-out crowds enjoyed performances from acts by Mr H Productions, before the main event – presenting outfits for the bride, bridesmaids, groom and wedding guests.

Suits, dresses and ensembles available from local stores were paraded in spectacular fashion by the show’s models, including designs by John Lewis, Hinxworth Bridal, Cream Fashions, Ann Bridal & Menswear, Ivory & lace Bridal and Moss Bros and Chimney Formal Menswear.

Paul McCullough, owner of Ann Bridal & Menswear, said: “This was our fourth year exhibiting at Bride: The Wedding Show at Knebworth and, without doubt, it offers the best catwalk and feedback from visitors.

“We received more than 40 appointment bookings taken at the show for menswear and bridal.”

Lucy Harris, from Ruislip, who is getting married in 2018, visited the show with her sister and fellow bride-to-be, Jessica Harris, and mum, Lorraine Harris.

She said: “It’s been so good. The catwalk performances were very good and the outfits were all lovely.

“I didn’t expect it to be so big. I came to get ideas for dresses, cakes and flowers.

“The catwalk was such a good production; it was very uplifting.”

• Bride: The Wedding Show will return to Knebworth Barns on January 6 to January 7, 2018.
