Live wrestling can be seen at The Alban Arena on Saturday, January 28, when the stars of Superslam will be climbing in the ring with a new line-up.

And one wrestler, Ricky Knight, is on a St Albans mission.

Although he has campaigned out of Norfolk for many years, the wrestling star has family roots in St Albans and intends to make his mark when facing top home heavyweight talent James Mason in one of the featured clashes of the All Star bill at the Arena.

Knight heads a real wrestling dynasty, with his wife campaigning around the world as Sweet Saraya, while sons Roy and Zack Knight form top tag team the UK Hooligans.

Roy’s own teenage son is now making his mark campaigning as Ricky Knight junior.

South London-born Mason also began his highly-successful career as a teenager and continues to thrive against the best of home and overseas opposition.

Starting at 7.30pm, the St Albans programme also brings international action with Harlem Bravado, the man who styles himself as ‘Mister USA’, likely to need all his experience and guile when opposed by spectacular Mexican luchador Flying Eagle.

The girls are not forgotten with much-travelled Coventry lass Jetta back in action after a spell out of the ring.

She will be opposing teenage sensation Xia Brookside, who won the ladies’ final of last year’s ‘Most Dynamic Newcomers’ event staged in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, to mark the 50th anniversary of Kendo Nagasaki ending the unbeaten of fellow masked man Count Bartelli.

Two further solo contests will complete The Alban Arena action.

The wrestling show starts at 7.30pm, and booking your ticket early will guarantee you the best seat in the house.
