WIN Heritage Afternoon Tea for two at Brocket Hall in the Welwyn Hatfield Times' latest lifestyle competition.
FEEL like a character from Downton Abbey by taking afternoon tea at the historic Brocket Hall.
There is a dilemma as to where to look while enjoying a quintessentially British tea in the grand ballroom at the Lemsford stately home.
Because inside, history speaks from every wall and a magnificent ceiling painted by Cipriani, and outside there is the breathtaking scenery of the estate, with undulating green hills as far as the eye can see and the magnificent lake set in their midst.
The heritage afternoon tea will be served by traditional butlers every Sunday at the hall until September 29 – and the Welwyn Hatfield Times has tea for two to give away.
As well as a range of teas, customary finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream, lemon curd and jam, the treat includes a selection of pastries delicately hand-made by the venue’s executive head chef Phil Thompson, using the finest locally sourced ingredients.
The Heritage Afternoon Tea is priced at £29.50 per person, or £42 per person including a glass of Champagne.
General manager John Keating said: “We cannot wait for guests to experience the traditional treat.
“Afternoon tea is a famous British tradition and as Brocket Hall combines British heritage and history, it provides the ultimate high tea experience.”
