The One Show’s Team Rickshaw challenge, which went through Hatfield and Potters Bar, has raised more than £2.3million for BBC Children in Need.

The young rickshaw riders cycled through Hatfield and Potters Bar town centres this afternoon (Friday) on the final day of their eight-day journey from Salford to Walford.

The 450-mile challenge finished on the EastEnders set at Elstree Studios, in Borehamwood, this evening.

And organisers have now confirmed the cyclists have raised more than £2.3million for the charity appeal.

The official Team Rickshaw Twitter account, @TeamRickshaw, tweeted: “#TeamRickshaw have finished their ride from Salford to Walford and raised £2.3 million! Thank you & til next year...”

Team Rickshaw also posted: “What an absolutely phenomenal amount raised! You have helped #TeamRickshaw raise £2,315,734! Thank you so much!”
