Stevenage’s annual fireworks display will be held tonight – Bonfire Night, November 5th – despite the rain.

The spectacular free display is due to place in Fairlands Valley Park, in Six Hills Way.

Despite the rain, organisers are keen to press ahead with the show.

Stevenage Borough Council’s Twitter account @StevenageBC tweeted: “Our fireworks display at Fairlands is definitely going ahead even if it’s still raining. We’re not letting the wet weather defeat us!”

People attending will be able to see the fireworks from all parts of Fairlands Valley Park.

The display starts at 7.30pm and early arrival is advised.

There is free parking available at the south field, opposite Stevenage FC’s stadium.

Members of the public are warned not to take their own fireworks or sparklers to the display for safety reasons.
