AN organ scholar will perform his final recital at St John's Church in Lemsford this weekend.
Adam Pallister will celebrate his graduation from the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield, and the completion of his scholarship with the church, on Saturday evening.
Studying for a BSc in music composition and technology, Adam met university chaplain Allan Smith in October 2008, who was able to draw up plans for a scholarship.
Following this, Adam met the Rev Edward Cardale and the choir and quickly became a part of the church community, regularly playing for weekly services and choir practices.
Saturday’s concert promises to be an exciting finale to Adam’s time at St John’s and will include performances by the choir of some traditional and some unexpected pieces which are guaranteed to shock and amaze the audience.
Adam will be playing a repertoire which includes a range of pieces, old and new, including traditional music from composers such as Pachelbel and Mozart.
The evening will end with a sing-along of traditional British songs, to bring a small piece of the proms to Lemsford.
Tickets cost £5 for adults and £1 for children and the price includes refreshments after the performance.
The concert starts at 7.30pm.
