Mill Green Mill and Museum will once again throw open its doors as part of a nationwide event.

National Mills Weekend will return on Sunday, May 13, during which mills around the country invite residents in to tell them about the traditional craft.

The event in Mill Green will be between 2pm and 5pm, during which the museum will be operating as usual.

Visitors will be able to enjoy cream teas, made using flour milled at Mill Green, as well as several children’s activities including storytelling, bread and butter making demonstrations, straw plaiting and clog dancing.

Southgate Amateur Radio Club will also be on site.

Museum manager Linda Dobbs said: “The event is always popular at Mill Green, and it is the perfect day out for the whole family with a variety of activities on offer, as well as great food and drink.”
