Lemsford Fete takes place on May Bank Holiday Monday

Lemsford Fete is held in the village today – May Bank Holiday Monday.

One of Welwyn Hatfield’s biggest annual events will be held at St John’s School and Church from noon.

Attractions include a traditional tug-of-war, which Welwyn Rugby Club won last year.

There will also be Maypole dancing, a coconut shy, a tea-cup ride, live music and a Pimm’s tent.

A train will also be riding around the fete.

And a team from the Welwyn Hatfield Times will be there as well.

Headteacher Mandy Evans said: “This is a wonderful village school and church event that brings our whole community together and is enjoyed each year by people far and wide in Hertfordshire.

“We hope that our many existing fete friends will come again to see what’s new.

“And we welcome and encourage first time visitors to come and experience a real traditional village fete.”

Entry costs £1.50 for adults and £1 for seniors.

Children below the age of 16 can go for free.

The fete will run between noon and 4pm.
