The Ayots Horticultural Society Annual Show took place in Ayot Green on Saturday, and saw people competing in dozens of categories such as flowers and plants, vegetables and photography.

It was open to anyone who lives or works in Ayot St Peter, Ayot St Lawrence, Brocket Park, Waterend and Cromer Hyde.

All money raised from the community day will be donated to charities Waste Not Want Not, Herts Air Ambulance and Magpas Air Ambulance.

Event secretary Cathy Thomas said: “It went brilliantly. The competition took place in the morning, so judges came and judged the exhibits in the different classes before it got going in the afternoon, when people came and saw the winners and entries.

Visitors also enjoyed a bouncy castle, face painting, tombola, street foods and live music.

All competition entries were judged in the morning before the show opened to the public, with prizes awarded at the end of the day.
