Remember, remember the fifth of November. Gunpowder, treason and plot...

Bonfire Night 2014 is fast approaching and a number of huge firework displays are being arranged in Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City and across Hertfordshire.

Guy Fawkes celebrations will be held across the county once again in November.

With November 5 falling on a Wednesday this year, most displays will take place either the weekend before the big night – on Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2 – or the weekend after.

There will be large public displays at Hatfield House and in St Albans on Saturday, November 1.

Cheshunt’s Festival of Fireworks will also take place on Saturday, November 1, 2014 – having been brought forward a day from its usual Sunday date.

Butterfly World, in Chiswell Green, near St Albans, will stage its display on Sunday, November 2, while there will be a fireworks party at Hertford Castle, in Hertford, on the same night.

Explosive displays of pyrotechnics will take place in Stevenage and Hitchin on Bonfire Night itself – Wednesday, November 5.

Welwyn Garden City Football Club will be staging its now annual display on Friday, November 7.

And the Little Heath Primary School and Brookmans Park Rotary Club organised display will light up the sky near Potters Bar on Saturday, November 8.
