There will be fireworks above the pitch at Welwyn Garden City FC next month when the football club stages its now annual display.

The Herns Way club will be holding its 2014 fireworks display on Friday, November 7.

Gates to the ground will open at 6.30pm.

As well as fireworks by a professional company, there will be children’s fairground rides, side stalls, popcorn, food stalls, an outdoor bar and barbecue.

In the club’s October newsletter, membership and social secretary Karen Fisher wrote: “What can I say about this event, other than wow!

“This is by far our biggest event of the year and we all cannot wait.

“This year, for the first time, we have employed a professional company to put on a show for us, so we are expecting a fantastic display.”

She added: “We are all hoping for an amazing night and look forward to welcoming lots of familiar faces, as well as lots of new ones.

“If you have never been to one of our fireworks nights, then you have been missing out. We are a family community club so really welcome children to join us with their families.

“We have kept prices as low as possible again this year and there will be loads going on, hopefully something for everyone.”

Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 children, and it is free for under-5s.

The fireworks display will take place around 7.30pm.

The club’s address is Herns Way, Panshanger, AL7 1TA.
