A spectacular space themed fireworks display is set to light up the night sky in Hatfield next month to mark Bonfire Night 2014.

Hatfield House’s annual display returns this year on Saturday, November 1 – four days before Guy Fawkes Night itself.

Gates to Hatfield Park will open at 5pm, and the bonfire in the Queen Elizabeth Oak Field will be lit around 6.30pm.

All entrance gates are due to close at 6.45pm.

Tickets cost £7 for adults in advance and £3 for children. It is free for under-fives.

Advance tickets are only available online. Visit

On the night, tickets will be available on the gate at £8 per adult and £4 per child, cash payment only.

Knebworth-based radio station Bob FM will be providing a space themed evening of entertainment in the build up to the fireworks, which will be set off to a mix of space music.

There will also be a funfair and catering units offering hot food and drinks.

This year’s fireworks will be in support of Welwyn Hatfield Mayor Les Page’s charity, Parkinson’s UK Welwyn Hatfield Branch.

It is forbidden for anyone to bring pets or fireworks – including sparklers – to the display. Gazebos are not permitted either.

Free car parking will be provided within the Hatfield House estate, but organisers ask that as many people as possible walk or use public transport to get to the site.

Station Lodge, opposite Hatfield Railway Station, and Fore Street Lodge, at the top of Fore Street, will be for pedestrian access only.

The George’s Gate entrance, opposite the Citroen garage on Great North Road, will be open for cars.

However, there will be a 10-minute drive to the location, followed by a five to 10 minute walk to the location of the firework display.

North Lodge, off the A1000, and the entrance off the A414 will be open and signposted.

Entering via these entrances will involve parking in an area with a five to 10 minute walk.

Disabled parking is available from all three vehicle entrance.

All drop-offs and pick-ups should be in George’s car park. People who have been dropped off will be able to walk to the site via Stable Yard.

Due to the on-going improvement works at Hatfield Station there is likely to be a reduced train service and rail placement buses in action. Please check before you travel.
