A children’s TV star will help switch on the Christmas lights in Hatfield this evening.

Kieran Alleyne, who plays Jimmy in CBBC’s Dani’s Castle, will appear in the town centre.

He will be joined by Queen Elsa of Arendelle, from Disney film Frozen, to switch on the Christmas lights.

The princess and children’s TV favourite will flick the switch around 5.30pm, but not before the entertainment gets starts at 2pm in White Lion Square.

Father Christmas will be bringing his magical touch to the town centre. Santa will be meeting and greeting children throughout the day in his grotto, so get there early to avoid disappointment.

Schoolchildren have been working on lanterns that will be paraded at the event.

There will also be street entertainers, live music, face painting and delicious festive food on offer.

Radio station Bob FM’s roadshow will roll in at 2pm, keeping the crowds entertained right through the afternoon, and introducing live music on the Hatfield Town Team’s stage.
