Battle Prommers have until the end of the month to buy early bird tickets for this summer’s concert series at the cheapest prices.

Approximately 8,000 happy picnickers are expected to descend on Hatfield House in July, as the Battle Proms returns for its 17th annual concert in the leafy Queen Elizabeth Oak Field.

The UK’s premier picnic proms returns to the grounds of the Hertfordshire stately home on Saturday, July 15.

Always a highlight of the summer season at Hatfield House, the open-air concert features sublime classical music, a Spitfire, cannons, cavalry and fireworks.

Organisers of the concert are encouraging people to book by the end of the month to get their tickets for the best possible price.

The 2017 Battle Proms Concert series

• Burghley House, Lincolnshire – Saturday, July 8

• Hatfield House, Hertfordshire – Saturday, July 15

• Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire – Saturday, July 22

• Highclere Castle, Hampshire – Saturday, August 5

• Ragley Hall, Warwickshire – Saturday, August 12

Early bird adult tickets are £31 if booked online by midnight January 31 at

From Wednesday, February 1 the price goes up to £35, then rises to £38 on May 1.

Battle Proms ticket prices

• Adults:

£31 if booked before January 31, 2017 (online booking only)

£35 if booked between February 1 and April 30, 2017

£38 if booked from May 1, 2017 until the day before the concert

£43 on the day of concert (subject to availability)

• Children aged 5 to 15:

£18 (children aged four and under are free, and do not require a ticket)

• Groups: Advance group bookings of 10 or more qualify for a £2 reduction per ticket.

Group bookings of 10 or more can also quality for a £2 per ticket discount.

Tickets will cost £43 on the day, subject to availability, online until 4.30pm or with cash on the gate.

Children aged five to 15 years pay £18 at all times.

Battle Proms promoters have been staging their summer celebrations since 1997 and, with 2017 being their 20th anniversary year, the Hatfield House Battle Proms looks set to be the place to be this summer.

The concert will once again be raising funds for charity partner Combat Stress, the UK’s leading veterans’ mental health charity.

As well as Hatfield House, there are also Battle Proms concerts taking place at Burghley House, Blenheim Palace, Highclere Castle, and Ragley Hall this year.
