MUSICAL biopic about the legendary recording artists coming out of 1950s Chicago.

On the south side of the Windy City, record producer Leonard Chess (Adrien Brody) and his brother Phil (Shiloh Fernandez) set out to launch their own record label.

They aim to document the great musical artists of their generation, and to make a bit of cash along the way.

Step forward the likes of Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Howlin' Wolf, Etta James (Beyonce Knowles) and Chuck Berry (Mos Def).

It's all one big happy family for Chess until booze, drugs and a little sexual frisson are thrown into the mix.
