Artists have until next week to apply for this year’s Hertford Arts Trail.
The event forms part of the annual Hertford Arts Festival, with artists exhibiting their work in shops and businesses around the county town.
Among those to take part last year was Welwyn abstract acrylic artist Amy Pettingill.
Artists have until January 21 to apply to participate in the 2019 Hertford Arts Trail, where their work will be showcased at a prime town centre location for an entire month for just £30.
The Hertford Arts Festival 2019 will run from Friday, April 5 to Sunday, May 5.
The comprehensive festival programme includes the Hertford Arts Trail, the Hertford Castle Craft Market & Open Day, local exhibitions, activities and performances including Hertford Theatre Week, Courtyard Arts Open Exhibition and the Hertford Arts Society Open Exhibition.
Last year, 28 talented artists showcased their work during the Hertford Arts Trail.
Each artist was allocated a location to exhibit and sell artwork for a month-long period.
The pop-up art exhibition venues will be located around the town centre, consisting of a multitude of retailers including bars and cafes, beauty salons, clothes retailers and gift shops.
For 2019, the Hertford Arts Trail will launch on Friday, April 5 at Hertford Castle where artists will preview one creation from their month-long exhibition.
The Arts Trail will then run from Saturday, April 6 to Sunday, May 5, and offer free entry to all venues.
Any Hertford town centre business is welcome to apply to become part of the Hertford Arts Trail and will be required to allocate a designated area within the premises for the artist to exhibit.
There are a number of benefits for businesses that are interested in becoming an Art Trail venue.
They will retain a 15 per cent commission from every art piece sold, be listed in the festival programme and invited to the opening launch at Hertford Castle.
It’s free of charge for businesses to sign up and become an Art Trail venue.

For 2019, Hertford Town Council has once again partnered with Courtyard Arts to help promote the festival and source artists to take part in the Hertford Arts Trail.
All artists are eligible to apply and must do so before the application closing date of January 21, 2019.
