A new exhibition exploring the works of a hugely influential British artist is set to open in St Albans.

A St Albans-based star of Tonight at the Palladium and Russell Howard’s Good News will headline a stand-up comedy night in the city.

The first comedy acts have been confirmed for Hertfordshire festival Standon Calling.

Fusing heritage with fashion, a new exhibition has opened in Hatfield with original pieces spanning the 1920s to the 1970s from a historic Welwyn Garden City textile company.

Visitors to St Albans Museum + Gallery will see the Assembly Room in a new light as a large scale multi-coloured art installation by Liz West takes over the historic space.

Last year’s Britain’s Got Talent runner-up brings his debut UK stand-up tour to Hertfordshire this weekend.

Comedian Ricky Gervais will play a warm-up show in St Albans ahead of his new SuperNature tour.

Artists have until next week to apply for this year’s Hertford Arts Trail.
