Sir - Who is David Burns trying to kid when he refers to his "confidence" in the car park facilities and "value for money" (letters WHT January 21)?
As a regular commuter from Welwyn North I am confident I can speak for 100 per cent of those that use the car park that it is anything other than "value". The evidence is obvious as more and more commuters choose to create an "accident waiting to happen" along New Road by parking kerbside and avoiding the charge all together.
Increased charges will push more cars on to New Road and all of Mr Burns' smooth talking will fall on deaf ears when the inevitable accident happens!
As a local resident I use the car park to avoid contributing to the New Road farce but to have Mr Burns insult me by claiming their car parks have won awards - what for? A large slab of tarmac divided into microscopic spaces?
When my car was damaged by a "park and run" driver late last year, Mr Burns' CCTV and help desk staff couldn't assist at all. So what am I paying for?
I feel sorry for his "information team" who have braved the morning cold to become the most unpopular people in Hertfordshire as they suffer at the hands of bemused commuters. Instead of "Good Morning" they get "you've got to be kidding!"
Perhaps he should join the "info team" one morning and get some direct feedback.
Its about time to get real Mr Burns, you're flogging a piece of concrete where I'm struggling to find your "investment".
