SIR - I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped get the word out about my missing dog Doris, which was featured in the WHT on December 19.

After being missing for eight days, Doris was found in a nearby field, with her collar missing. She had a small amount of weight loss. We are of the belief that she had been 'dumped' back as her state and condition was not that of being without food, water or shelter for eight days.

Once again thank you for putting my plea for help in the WHT - it was greatly appreciated. I must also say a huge thank you to the people at www.doglost.com as their scheme for setting up and sending out posters of the missing dogs in the surrounding areas was also a massive help.

Many thanks.
