The festival will once again take place at Frogmore Hill near Bragbury End, Stevenage, over the weekend of Friday, August 31 to Sunday, September 2. To get a flavour of the festival, watch the YouTube video above of Wilkestock 2017.

Cambridge alternative rockers Mallory Knox will headline the 2018 main stage on the Friday night, this year with Scottish rockers The Fratellis topping the bill on the Saturday.

Oh My God! It’s The Church will hold service on the Sunday.

The line-up also includes St Albans band Trash Boat, fresh from their appearance at Hatfield Park’s Slam Dunk Festival in May, Cabbage, Beans on Toast, October Drift, 485C, Fizzy Blood, Gold Key, Sea Girls and Strange Bones.

There will be dozens of others appearing over the various festival stages in the Hertfordshire countryside.

The main DJ attraction will be a Sub Focus set on the Saturday, with Low Steppa, Friction, So Solid Crew, DJ Billy Daniel Bunter and Natty Dub Recordings also appearing.

With a ‘Carnival’ fancy dress theme, the festival near Watton-at-Stone will once again raise funds for Leukaemia Research and Keswick Mountain Rescue Team.

The festival was founded by brothers Tom and Olly Wilkes, originally to pay homage to their brother who tragically passed away in a climbing accident.

All profits, since day one, have been donated to both KMRT (Keswick Mountain Rescue Team) and Bloodwise (Blood Cancer Research), previously known as Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, a charity added later in tribute to their uncle who sadly died of leukaemia.

A statement from organisers on the Wilkestock website said: “Yes we started small (just 30 people in a field!) and have grown like many other festivals, however, the home grown ethos and donating all profits to charity has never changed.

“What started off as a place for the various bands in our family to perform some 11 years ago has snowballed massively, through huge generosity of many people’s time and skills to create something we thought would never be possible.

“Back in 2007 with a small stage made out of milk crates borrowed from the local milkman and some scraps of plywood the Wilkestock era was created.

“Many years followed, cobbling together equipment and people’s time all on a shoestring has created something incredibly unique to the UK festival scene.

“Gone are the milk crates, but the enthusiasm and passion strongly thrives more than ever.

“Here we are, in 2018, selling out of early bird tickets and gearing up for our 11th anniversary.

“We can’t remember much about the first few but I guess that is a side effect of the many festival antics the Wilkestock field has produced!

“We are again donating all of the profits to charities close to our family’s hearts, Leukaemia Research (Beating Blood Cancer) and Keswick Mountain Rescue.”
