ONE of the acts due to play this weekend’s V Festival 2013 has had to cancel their scheduled appearance.
Impossible chart-topper James Arthur has pulled out of the two-day festival being held simultaneously at Hylands Park, in Chelmsford, and Weston Park in Staffordshire with a “severe throat infection”.
Last year’s winning The X Factor star was due to appear on the 4Music Stage in Essex tomorrow (Saturday) and then Weston Park on Sunday.
The V Festival Twitter account (@vfestival) tweeted this evening (Friday): “It’s with regret James Arthur is unable to perform this weekend due to a severe throat infection. We wish him a speedy recovery. #VFestival”
Sheffield indie-pop champions Reverend and the Makers have been added to the line-up though.
V Festival tweeted on Thursday: “Very pleased to announce @Reverend_Makers will be playing the @4Music stage on Sat in Weston and Sun in Hylands.”
The Virgin Media main stage at Hylands Park will be headlined by Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce on Saturday and Sex on Fire rockers Kings of Lyon on Sunday.
Following Beady Eye’s cancellation, Steve Angello – one third of electronic dance music trio Swedish House Mafia – will top the bill on the 4Music Stage in Chelmsford on Saturday.
Dance fans can enjoy Calvin Harris on the 4Music Stage in Essex the following night.
