Organisers have announced the second wave of bands joining the Slam Dunk Festival 2015 line-up set for Hatfield, Leeds and Wolverhampton in May.

The touring pop-punk, ska, rock, metal and punk festival will take over the University of Hertfordshire’s College Lane campus again on Sunday, May 24, with an increased capacity.

And promoters have today (Wednesday) announced another batch of bands appearing at the all-day event, including Don Broco, PVRIS, While She Sleeps and The Bronx.

Hosting stages in and around The Forum Hertfordshire, the huge Slam Dunk line-up already includes overall headliners You Me At Six, Lower Than Atlantis and Taking Back Sunday.

Slam Dunk North returns to its original home in Leeds, Millennium Square, the day before heading south to Hatfield.

The festival’s Midlands leg will take place in Wolverhampton on Bank Holiday Monday, May 25.

Joining album chart-toppers You Me At Six in Hatfield will be Slam Dunk Festival friends Don Broco.

The recent Kerrang! magazing cover stars have been one of the fastest growing bands in the UK, with many a BBC Radio 1 playlist, sold-out tours and an increasingly expanding loyal fan base.

They are currently working on their second album, which is set for release this summer.

The group said: “We’re very excited to be returning to Slam Dunk, it’s one of our favourite festivals and the line-up this year is sick!”

Hotly-tipped female-fronter American band PVRIS will make their UK festival debut at Slam Dunk.

Debut album White Noise dropped late last year and the first single went C List on Radio 1.

Singer Lynn Gunn said: “We’ve always heard about Slam Dunk and we’ve seen our friends performing at it.

“We’re very excited to get back over to the UK and finally get to play it ourselves.”

One of the most exciting and ferocious UK metal bands around, While She Sleeps return to Slam Dunk after a three-year absence, armed with new album Brainwashed.

Also joining the line-up are Trash Talk and Boston’s A Loss For Words playing one of their final shows.

The Bronx will also be flying in exclusively to bring the party, while their alter ego, Mariachi El Bronx, will be sure to have everyone dancing.

As always, ska and punk will be a big fixture at the festival, with old favourites Zebrahead and Big D & The Kids Table appearing.

Also following in the Slam Dunk tradition of having classic bands reform specially to play, UK ska punk heroes Lightyear will be back.

Long Island’s Patent Pending will also be bringing their “psychotically fun and dramatically moving” live show to the festival.

Flying the flag for all those who like to be in the pit will be New York’s Emmure and Sydney, Australia’s Thy Art Is Murder, who make their festival debut.

Ohio five-piece Beartooth, fresh from their stint on the 2015 Kerrang! tour, and post-hardcore Illinois five-piece The Color Morale have also been confirmed for Slam Dunk.

Finally, emo-rock band Transit and New York punks Such Gold complete the second line-up announcement.

Festival promoter Ben Ray said: “This will certainly be a year of unique performances.

“After already announcing Bane’s final ever UK festival appearance, it’s especially sad to see the A Loss for Words guys’ final show, as we’ve become close over the years.

“Although to balance things out, it’s good to see the return of Lightyear.”

Tickets for Slam Dunk are £39, plus booking fees, or £44 with after party entrance included.
