The touring pop-punk, ska, rock and metal event returns to the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield on Sunday, May 24.

Organisers have today (Wednesday) announced the final two bands for the 2015 event – Bury Tomorrow and competition winners Trash Boat.

Slam Dunk South at The Forum Hertfordshire in College Lane has now sold out.

Tickets for the festival’s other two dates in Leeds and Wolverhampton over the same May Bank Holiday weekend are still available.

Last year’s third stage headliners Bury Tomorrow step up to appear as extra special guests this time around.

They will be playing one of their very last 2015 shows at the festival to round off their Runes album campaign.

Brothers Dani and Davyd Winter-Bates will also, of course, be headlining the Uprawr DJ stage each day as well.

Vocalist Dani Winter-Bates said: “We as Bury Tomorrow are absolutely stoked to be announced as the special guests for Slam Dunk.

“It was a pleasure to headline last year. We can’t wait to bring the pain in a fast-paced set. Circle pits galore.’

This year’s festival will be the heaviest Slam Dunk ever, with the likes of Architects, While She Sleeps, Thy Art Is Murder, Trash Talk, The Bronx, Gallows, Comeback Kid, Bane, H2O, Crossfaith and many more bringing the mosh to the three-day event.

Following the departure from the bill of Emmure, festival organiser Ben Ray felt there was room for another heavy band.

Ben Ray said: “After Emmure pulled out of the festival a few weeks ago due to illness I knew we owed it to the audience to get another big heavy band on the bill.

“Although we had planned to give them a year off, with Dani and Davyd already at the festival Dj-ing, it was obvious who I could ask to come to save the day.

“For this, I hope the public will join me in thanking them.”

Meanwhile, new Hopeless Records signing Trash Boat have won the Kerrang! Magazine Fresh Blood stage People’s Choice vote.

They will be playing at Slam Dunk on the Fresh Blood stage with the likes of Moose Blood, Seaway, This Wild Life, Rob Lynch, Baby Godzilla and many more.

The band are one of the most talked about since their debut EP Look Alive dropped last summer, and new EP Brainwork will be out in time for Slam Dunk Festival 2015.

The annual festival takes place over the May Bank Holiday weekend at three sites in Leeds, Hatfield and Wolverhampton.

Organisers announced a massive increase in capacity at all events late last year.

Tickets for Slam Dunk Hatfield have already sold out, with the remaining dates not far behind.
