A bold new stage production celebrating the music of David Bowie will pay tribute to the iconic singer in St Albans next week.

It’s a God-awful small affair

To the girl with the mousy hair

But her mummy is yelling no

And her daddy has told her to go...

Those are the opening lines to one of David Bowie’s most famous songs – Life on Mars, from 1971 album Hunky Dory.

A show celebrating the music, artistry, style and showmanship of The Thin White Duke is coming to The Alban Arena on Thursday, November 2 at 8pm.

Influenced by Bowie’s legendary concert performances, Live On Mars: A Tribute to David Bowie fuses sound and vision to portray the legendary showman, his various personas and creative muses, with stunning big screen visuals and animation.

The concert show features the electrifying vocals of lifelong Bowie fan Alex Thomas, with a hand-picked band.

Live on Mars covers the Bowie back catalogue from Space Oddity to Let’s Dance and everything in between.

The set list includes classics The Jean Genie, Space Oddity, Life on Mars, Ziggy Stardust, Heroes, Ashes to Ashes, All The Young Dudes, Let’s Dance, The Man Who Sold The World, Changes, Fashion, Moonage Daydream, Fame, Starman, Rebel Rebel, Sound & Vision, Modern Love and Young Americans.

Tickets for the show cost £34.50, and £24.50 Gold Circle.
