“CAPTIVATING and exciting, packed with sizzle transporting you to those glory days of live music.”
That’s how a performance of Chris Dean’s Syd Lawrence Orchestra has been described.
Judge for yourself and get down to the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage to watch the orchestra, on Sunday, October 3.
The concert will feature the music of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Billy May, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and many more.
A show spokeswoman said: “This programme is so engrossing that all eyes are glued once again to the phenomenal talent of the ‘Best Big Band in the Land’.
“Flirtations with the audience from debonair leader Chris are priceless and just a bit naughty, while the orchestra provides not only sincere musical virtuosity but as much confidence in the music as when it was the latest smash on the airwaves.
“A truly hypnotic combination!”
It evening kicks off at 7.45pm. Tickets are 19.50; concessions get 1.50 off that price.
