BOOGIE on down to St Albans this weekend and dance the night away to smooth funk and soul hits.
The Alban Arena’s legendary Boogie Night returns on Saturday from 7pm to midnight.
The disco extravaganza is packed with hits from Shakatak, Gwen Dickey, Phil Fearon from Galaxy and tributes to both Earth Wind & Fire and Chic.
The sound of Earth Wind & Fire is paid tribute to by the Ultimate Earth Wind & Fire band, while also appearing will be Gwen Dickey from the American soul and R&B group Rose Royce, who enjoyed hits in the 70s with singles Car Wash, I Wanna Get Next to You, Wishing on a Star, and Love Don’t Live Here Anymore.
Celebrating Chic, the 70s American disco supergroup, are Chic Le Freak. Chic are best known for their commercially successful disco songs, including Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah), Everybody Dance, Le Freak, and My Forbidden Lover.
The evening will also relive the smooth tunes of English jazz-funk band Shakatak, who scored top 10 hits with Night Birds and Down on the Street.
Lead singer, songwriter and keyboardist for the 1980s band Galaxy, Phil Fearon will also be performing top 10 hits such as Dancing Tight, What Do I Do? and Everybody’s Laughing.
