One of the country’s top jazz soloists, who has played alongside the likes of Sting and Jamiroquai, will be performing live in Welwyn Garden City this evening (Sunday).
Trumpet player Martin Shaw will appear with the Clark Tracey Trio at Herts Jazz Club on Sunday from 7.30pm.
Appointed professor of Jazz Trumpet at the Birmingham Conservatoire in 2001, you will hear Martin in an extraordinary range of settings from big band to quartet, cutting edge jazz to contemporary pop and funk.
Along with session and TV work, Martin still finds time to perform with classical ensembles and in West End shows and he has also recorded with some of the biggest rock and pop acts, including Sting, Jamiroquai and Natalie Cole.
He will play trumpet/flugel at tonight’s sold-out Campus West concert alongside Clark Tracey on drums, Dave Newton on piano and Mark Hodgson on bass.
