The Irish siblings will be heading to East Anglia on Friday, June 17.

Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim Corr are set to be the first act of the summer at this year’s 2016 Newmarket Nights.

They will open proceedings on June 17, with the date also marking the beginning of celebrations for Newmarket Racecourses in their landmark 350th year as ‘The Home of Horseracing’.

The Corrs are looking forward to the concert.

They said: “We love open-air summer shows, so are really looking forward to playing Newmarket Nights on June 17 after the races.

“We had a fantastic time touring our new album White Light at the start of the year, so can’t wait to get back on the road to perform all our hits for a few familiar faces and more this summer.”

Since releasing their debut album Forgiven, Not Forgotten in 1995, The Corrs have gone on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide, with Talk on Corners reaching number one in the UK charts and including hits Dreams, What Can I Do and So Young.

Known for hits singles Runaway and Breathless, the band took a 10-year break after 2005 album Home to spend time with their families while Sharon and Andrea also pursued solo careers.

The group returned last year to a rapturous welcome with their sixth studio album White Light, and a sold-out arena tour this month.

Last year’s award-winning Newmarket 2015 season, which saw Newmarket Nights win the Group Leisure award for ‘Best Event For Groups’ in 2014/15, welcomed acts including Kylie, Spandau Ballet, Tom Jones and Kaiser Chiefs to the Adnams July Course, collectively playing to over 100,000 fans.

The season launched with a sell-out crowd of 22,000 for Kylie.
