An indie-folk trio from Hertfordshire have been confirmed for Hatfield music festival Folk by the Oak.
The Staves will play Folk by the Oak 2019 in the grounds of Hatfield House on Sunday, July 14.
The trio from Watford – sisters Jessica, Camilla and Emily Staveley-Taylor – join the likes of headliner Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls and singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Seth Lakeman on the main stage at the Hertfordshire stately home.

Folk by the Oak event director Adam Slough said: “The Staves are renowned for their ability to enthral audiences with their soaring vocals and stunning harmonies, and we are thrilled that they are joining us at Folk by the Oak this year.
“An indie-folk trio that combines exceptional song-writing skills, sublime vocal talents and entertaining sisterly banter, the offer a rare live performance that we have long wanted to share with our audience.”
Comprised of Emily (vocals, synths), Jessica (vocals, guitar, keyboards), and Camilla (vocals, guitar, ukulele), The Staves released their first full-length album, Dead & Born & Grown, in 2012.
Since then they have earned a reputation for emotive and captivating performances that secured invites to tour the world with the likes of Florence + The Machine, The Civil Wars, Ben Howard and Bon Iver.
Following the release of their critically acclaimed second album If I Was in 2015, America beckoned, and after relocating to Minneapolis in 2016 the band toured North America extensively.
Their most recent release, The Way Is Read, is a remarkable collaborative album with a New York chamber music ensemble.
The FBTO 2019 line-up also includes The Lost Words – Spell Songs featuring the combined talents of Karine Polwart, Julie Fowlis, Seckou Keita, Kris Drever, Kerry Andrew, Rachel Newton, Beth Porter and Jim Molyneux.
Talisk, Elephant Sessions and Grace Petrie will also play the all-day folk and acoustic festival in the Queen Elizabeth Oak Field in Hatfield Park.
Adult tickets for Folk by the Oak cost £38 until midnight on March 31.
The price from April 1 until midnight July 13 – the day before the festival – is £41.
Tickets will cost £46 on the day of the festival, subject to availability.
Children aged five to 15 pay £18 at all times and the festival is free for youngsters aged four and under.
