WGC'S Stanborough Park hosted a Royal Yachting Association windsurfing competition for the first time earlier this month.

The Team 15 inter-club event, a nationwide initiative for windsurfers aged 15 and under, welcomed 16 young competitors from three teams to Times Territory.

Windsurfers from all over the South East took part in the event on the WGC lakes.

Stanborough Stormers, Alton Wipeouts and Norwich Force 8th were represented across five different classes.

Hatfield youngster Chris Wright, 12, won all but two of his races, gaining his Stormers' side valuable points in the 3.5 metre class.

Team 15 is an RYA initiative set up to encourage more youngsters into the sport.

A Stanborough Park spokesman said: "We were very proud to be one of the hosts for this year's events and received visitors who had travelled from all across the Eastern Region.
