When Paul Tomkins was in charge, the Herns Lane club drew 1-1 after going 1-0 up.
What's more, the Tigers had two men sent off but City were devoid of ideas and stumbled to a point.
Although most of the current squad were not at the club at that time, for players like Richard Teixeira, Jason Williams and Raff Kaphouris it will be a chance to put to bed that memory.
Citizens boss Del Deanus said: "It will be a tough game on Saturday for sure.
"They like to play football, but they can try all they like to get the ball down, but the pitch won't help.
"If anything the pitch might play in our favour as we are used to it. It definitely needs working on.
