BOWLERS found it tough going when Welwyn Garden City's Under-14s faced their Knebworth Park counterparts.

WGC made it a hat-trick of wins so far in a match that saw bowlers struggle to take wickets.

Only six wickets fell in the derby match on Monday - and three of those were via run outs.

Knebworth batted first and were restricted by some good tight bowling from James Small and Max Tann.

With George Gibbins, Austin Eaton and Greg Butler scoring well, a competitive total of 96 for Knebworth was achieved.

WGC got off to a terrible start in reply, losing a wicket in the first over to a good run out.

The experienced trio of David Nolan (21), Liam Mitchell (25) and Alex Chalker (24 no) ensured WGC suffered no more shocks.

Their batting resulted in the total being passed in the 18th over for the loss of just three wickets.
