Welwyn Wheelers take on the trials of Redbridge

WELWYN Wheelers youth riders were among the 130 competitors who rode at Redbridge in the last race of the Lee Valley Circuit Championships.

Joe Kiely won the U10 catgory with Ben Griffin eighth.

Alexi Edwards won the U12 race with Josie Griffin fourth and first girl Kat Anderson was second girl in the U14 event while Lucy Harper and Sophia were the two best girls in the U16 category.

In the final results for the 10 race series Josie Griffin won the U12 girls series and Lucy Harper the U16 girls series.

Four riders, Jack Plumley, Cameron Gutteridge, Dan Maynard and Jordan Mooney entered the youth team event at Herne Hill track and were in the lead going into the final event but lost out to the VC Londres team by just 0.6 seconds in the Team Pursuit to finish second.

Wheelers promoted the East Region Track Championship at Gosling Sports Park and dominated all the youth age based groups.

Jack Plumley won the U16 group with Dan Maynard third and Glen Dossett fourth Will Raymond won the U14 boys’ group with Toby Miles third

Kristian Manzi led a Wheelers one, two, three in the U12s with Lauren Higham second and Josie Griffin third, the final winner was Joe Kiely who won the U10s followed by Welwyn’s Sam Gage, Ben Hinchliffe, Ben Griffin, Jenna Miles.

Lucy Harper and Sophia Chastell were first and second in the U16 girls, Kat Anderson and Millie Gage first and second U14 girls. In the senior category of 17 riders Wheelers Josh Maynard was fifth with George and Henry Farrell seventh and eighth.
