The Welwyn Wheelers’ youth riders spread their road circuit racing activities between the Redbridge and Hillingdon venues on Saturday.

Dan Maynard won the junior race at Hog Hill, Redbridge and then, later in the day, rode in the senior two/three category race along with two of his Welwyn colleagues.

The event finished with a mass sprint for around 40 riders.

Cai Davies got into a good position to finish fifth, while Maynard and Cameron Gutteridge were in the main bunch.

Elspeth Grace continued her good form winning the U16 girls’ race at Hillingdon to take the series triumph.

Jamie Dene was fifth in the youth race, Imogen Chastell was second U14 girl and Jenna Miles was third girl home in the U12 category.

Dan Roberts, who has just joined the club, finished in the main field in his first road race.
