WELWYN & District Bowls Club's ladies entertained three triples from Sele Farm last Tuesday and claimed an overall win of 52 shots to 45.

The top triple for Welwyn was that of Janet Tickner, Joyce Oakley and skip Diana Barrett.

The following day a four men's rinks team from Hemel Hempstead visited the Ottway Walk club and scored a win by 84 shots to 61.

This was a St Albans & District League match, giving hosts Welwyn just 15 points out of a possible 80.

The only winning rink for Welwyn was Mike Rowland, Gerald Papworth, Graham Hart and skip John Lee with a score 23 shots to 14.

Welwyn took six mixed triples to Oakhill on Saturday with only two winning triples and an overall score of 123 shots to 94 to the hosts.

The top rink for Welwyn was Sylvia Ducat-Brown, Jillian Jennings and skip John Lee, who won 28-10.
