WELWYN Garden City's bowlers lost to Sele Farm by 92 shots to 75 in a weekend match.

The top rink for WGC was that of Norma Cox, David Hegarty, Tom Saggers and Colin Avery, who won 30-14.

WGC lost to derby rivals Hatfield on Sunday in a men's points match by three rinks to one and by 65-15 match points. The overall rink score was 81-72 to Hatfield.

Top rink for WGC was Don Cox, Bryn Evans, Alan Evans and Les Brown with a 22-17 victory.

In the ladies' match, WGC lost 35-28. Their top rink was Maureen Foulser, Rita Wilsmore and Elaine King after winning 15-13.

There was also a 6-0 defeat for WGC last week in the East Herts League to Castle Knights, Hertford.

David Hegarty, Brian Hewitt and Keith Price lost 19-13 and Ernie Reed, Don Cox and Doug King went down 21-13.

WGC pair Doug King and Gordon Avery beat Roebuck bowlers Tony Dowie and Steve Kilford 20-15 in the quarter-finals of the East Herts pairs competition.
