Welwyn Garden City Sailing Club's youth fleet opted to change the game in their latest races by crewing the boats in pairs.

Each craft is usually sailed solo but the double-hander action saw Oscar and Paul Hayward prevail over Angelo and Francis Hansen in the first of the Autumn Pursuit Series.

They were were caught and overtaken by the fast fleet in both races, the first of which being dominated by Alan Campbell who finished way ahead of second place Roger Morse and Charles Adams, both of whom demonstrating how to maximize sail area when running in light winds when single handed.

Morse was again second, but this time only by less than a boat length ahead of Adams who had led in his slower boat until the very last.
