Welwyn Garden City professional golfer Hannah Burke cannot wait to get her 2017 season underway after qualifying for the LPGA.

Burke, who previously studied and played for Baylor University in Texas, will compete in both Ladies European Tour and LPGA events in the coming 12 months.

Burke told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “2016 was a little up and down for me.

“I had a great finish to the year, but struggled to gain momentum.

“My highlight of 2016 was gaining status on the LPGA. Any qualifying school is stressful and coming out with something to show for it all is amazing. “2017 will be a mixed year for me as I will be playing both in Europe and America.

“I’m looking forward to taking on new challenges and experiencing more events.

“Winning more events is something I would love to achieve, so I will be working hard towards that.

“I leave next week for LPGA orientation in Florida and then across to Australia for most of February. I can’t wait to get the 2017 season underway.”
