WELWYN Garden City Bowls Club lifted the Bob Vise Trophy after defeating Townsend 81-77 on August Bank Holiday Monday.
The St Albans and District competition saw WGC edge the encounter.
It was a close match but the eventual winners were always slightly in front.
The match finished two rinks each, but WGC won overall by four shots.
It is the first time WGC have won the competition.
Tom Stevenson lost 21-18 in the singles and in the pairs Mick Stephen and Ian Stone played well and won 24-19.
Triple Alan Cox, Reg Collins and Neil Sharp lost 21-15.
But Alan Evans, Allan Budge, Tony Parkhouse and Gordon Avery ran out 24-16 winners in the fours to secure the victory.
