DEFEAT for Welwyn Garden City at Tring Park on Saturday, combined with North Mymms’ win over Potters Bar, saw the Digswell Park side relegated from the Home Counties Premier League Division One.

WGC, who went up to Division One after winning the HCPL Division Two East in 2007, made 271-5 from their 50 overs at Tring.

However, their hosts claimed victory with two players, Vinay Kumar Devisetty and William Jones, making centuries as they reached a winning total of 272-3 from 42.2 overs.

Mymms secured their Division One status by beating already relegated Potters Bar at Home Farm by nine runs.

Batting first, the hosts were all out for 134, but Bar were dismissed for 125 to begin the Mymms’ survival celebrations.
